about

Engineer who thinks
in systems.

Belgian developer, born in Louvain-la-Neuve, raised in Charleroi, now living in Wallonia and commuting daily to Brussels. I joined Infrabel - Belgium's national railway infrastructure manager - in early 2024 as a full-stack .NET / Angular developer. I work mainly on internal tooling around identity and access management. Outside the day job I'm pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at UMONS Charleroi, with research interests in graph algorithms and software architecture.

How I work

I process things visually and build through structure. I prefer small, observable surfaces over big black boxes: health checks, counters, a live event stream, or an algorithm you can watch run. This site itself is built that way - everything you see has a real backend behind it (Angular front-end, ASP.NET Core API, SignalR realtime hub, MySQL, deployed on a Hetzner VPS fronted by Caddy and Cloudflare). It's not pretending to be a large platform; it's a small, honest demonstration of how the pieces fit together.

Background

Bachelor in IT (HELHa) graduated with distinction, followed by a bridging year also passed with distinction. Now in my second year of a Master's in Computer Science at UMONS Charleroi, in a work-study format - day-time work at Infrabel, evening classes at university. Core academic interests: graph algorithms, search heuristics, optimisation, and software architecture. M1 internship focused on rebuilding a railway routing engine around a clean A* implementation with a reverse-Dijkstra heuristic; M2 work is moving toward ML-assisted route prediction from historical network data.

What I'm currently building

At Infrabel I work on an internal access-management platform that supports governed identity and authorization workflows. It is built around Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, with an ASP.NET Core API, an Angular feature-sliced front-end, and scheduled runners that reconcile on-prem and cloud state. Outside work I maintain RootShell, a TypeScript Discord bot for the Digital Refuge server, and I run benchmarks on the A* routing engine that came out of my internship.

Languages I work in

French is my mother tongue. I work in English on a daily basis - technical documentation, code reviews, conference talks, and most of my reading.

The path so far

2024

Joined Infrabel

Joined as a .NET / Angular developer on an internal access-management tool. Day-to-day: feature work, code reviews, LDAP-related work, and integration points around cloud-identity runners.

2025-27

Master’s @ UMONS

CS Master’s at UMONS Charleroi, evening classes alongside the day job. Main interests: graph algorithms, optimisation, and software architecture.

M1 internship

Clean A* router

Worked on a cleaner railway routing engine around A*, using a reverse-Dijkstra heuristic and benchmarks to compare behaviour.

next

ML route prediction

Next: explore ML-assisted route ranking from historical network data, while continuing to build toward technical architecture.
